Who we are

Java Books LLC operates CustomersAreLikeFish.com, the author website for Steve Nakamoto's Customers Are Like Fish. For privacy questions or buyer support, contact customersarelikefish@gmail.com. This policy covers this website; the separate Strategic Business Tools applications have their own data practices.

What we collect

Notify list: when you request launch updates, we store your email address, the signup source (such as the page or form used), a record identifier, and the signup date. The current form saves your request; this website does not currently contain an automated launch-email sender.

Accounts and sessions: the current owner sign-in page uses an email address and password, not an emailed sign-in link. Lovable Cloud handles authentication, including account information, password authentication, account-confirmation emails, and session data. The browser stores authentication-session data so a signed-in session can persist and refresh.

Purchases and access: online checkout is currently disabled. The payment integration is designed to record the checkout email, product key, amount, currency, payment status and date, and Stripe transaction references after a verified successful payment. Access records store the email, tool or package identifier, and access end dates. A one-time tool purchase adds 1 calendar month for that tool; the Complete Package adds 90 days. Active repeat purchases extend the relevant end date; lapsed access starts again at verified payment time.

Saved tool results: this author website does not currently store saved tool results or provide a results viewer. Continued viewing of results after access ends is not implemented here. This policy does not promise how separate tool applications save or retain results.

Technical information: requests to our hosting and integrated services necessarily include connection information such as an IP address. The private access-check service uses the caller's IP address for a temporary request limit. Lovable error-reporting hooks can receive error messages, stack traces, and the page path when those hooks are available.

How we use information

We use notify-list information to maintain requests for book launch updates; account and session information to authenticate sign-ins; and purchase and access information to record verified payments and determine access periods. Technical information supports service delivery, request limiting, and error diagnosis. A purchase record on this author website does not by itself connect or unlock the separate tool applications.

Payments

When enabled, payments are processed by Stripe through Lovable's built-in embedded checkout on this website. Card details are entered into Stripe's payment form, not a card form operated by Java Books LLC. We do not see or store full card numbers in this website's database. We store the transaction and access information described above. Card statements may show a LINK.COM* line. Online checkout is currently coming soon, and no payment can be started through this website while it remains disabled.

Cookies and analytics

This site's active page code does not set its own first-party cookies. It uses browser localStorage for authentication-session information when you sign in; the Lovable editor preview can also synchronize that session with the editor. No site-installed Google Analytics, advertising pixels, or other visitor-analytics scripts were found. Lovable error-reporting hooks are present for diagnostics, rather than advertising analytics.

YouTube videos and the ElevenLabs voice widget load third-party resources. Those services, and Stripe when checkout is enabled, may use their own cookies or browser storage under their own policies. We do not control their storage. You can manage cookies and localStorage in your browser; removing authentication-session data can sign you out. This policy does not claim that third-party or hosting services collect no technical information.

Third-party services

Lovable provides website hosting, Lovable Cloud database and authentication services, and the built-in payment integration. Authentication emails are handled through Lovable Cloud; no custom sender domain is configured for this project. The exact outgoing sender address and underlying email-delivery provider have not been verified. No notify-list email-sending service is implemented in this website.

Stripe processes payments through the Lovable integration when checkout is enabled. Stripe receives the information entered in its checkout and the customer and transaction information needed to process payment.

YouTube hosts the embedded videos. Home uses the standard YouTube player; Book and About use YouTube's privacy-enhanced youtube-nocookie player. Loading or playing these videos can send information to YouTube. No Vimeo video is currently embedded.

ElevenLabs provides the voice-conversation widget, whose script is delivered through the unpkg CDN. Loading the widget contacts these services; if you start a conversation, ElevenLabs processes the information you provide, including voice input when used. This project's code does not establish ElevenLabs' recording or transcript-retention settings.

How long we keep data and your requests

Notify-list records: the email address, signup source, and signup date are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove them by emailing customersarelikefish@gmail.com. Account and session records: kept for 7 years for tax and accounting purposes. Purchase and access records: kept for 7 years for tax and accounting purposes. Hosting and diagnostic records are kept by our hosting provider under its own retention policies. An access end date limits access; it is not a scheduled deletion date for the purchase or access record.

To request a copy of your personal information, deletion, or removal from the notify list, email customersarelikefish@gmail.com. Use the subject "Copy my data", "Delete my data", or "Unsubscribe", and identify the email address used on this site. These requests are handled by contacting us, not through an automated self-service deletion or export feature. Please do not send card numbers or passwords.

California privacy rights and Do Not Track

California visitors may contact customersarelikefish@gmail.com to ask about personal information held by this website and to request a copy, correction, or deletion. We may need to verify a request before releasing or changing account-linked information. This contact process is not a claim that every California privacy statute applies to Java Books LLC.

This section is our disclosure under the California Online Privacy Protection Act (CalOPPA). We don't respond to Do Not Track signals, and we don't track you across other sites. We have not installed advertising or visitor-analytics scripts, but embedded third-party services may collect information under their own policies and may respond differently to those signals. Policy changes will be announced by posting the revised policy on this page and updating its effective date; no automated policy-change email system is currently implemented.

Children

This website is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information through this website, email customersarelikefish@gmail.com to request its removal.
